Unlocking the Accession of the Western Balkans in the European Union
The geopolitical turmoil caused by Russia’s aggression in Ukraine is considered as maybe the last chance for fulfilling the Union’s promise to the countries of the region: unlocking the ever elusive process of EU accession. For both sides, the EU and the countries of the region, have a vested interest in strengthening their relations and embarking on a new era of cooperation and integration. What is needed to further accelerate the process?
